Real estate developer Vingroup inaugurated its Vinmec international general hospital on June 19 in Phu Quoc Island in southern Kien Giang province.
This is the first international-standard hospital in the island providing high-quality medical services for both locals and tourists. Its construction began in July last year with a total investment of 1 trillion VND (45.9 million USD) across 19,000 square metres. Vinmec Phu Quoc hospital is expected to provide medical check-ups for 26,000 people and medical treatment for over 4,000 people each year. The hospital is also studying short-term insurance options for tourists to make them feel more secure on the island.
Phu Quoc, also known as Pearl Island, is the largest island in Vietnam with a total area of about 580 square kilometres. It has become well-known for its stunning beaches, untouched natural environment, relaxed atmosphere, friendly and easygoing local people and fantastic scuba diving and snorkelling.
